On May 2, KMGSA’s 50th softball season kicked off. As a 100 percent volunteer-based sports organization, we are proud of this accomplishment and are excited about the future of girls’ softball in Kitchener.
Registrations are up 20 percent compared to last season with the largest growth in our youngest age divisions. We are looking forward to another successful and fun season for all our players aged 5 through 19.
#KMGSA16 U10/U14 Tournament
This year’s event takes place June 24 to 26 at the Peter Hallman Ball Yard, Budd Park and Wilson Park.
A couple of years ago, KMGSA came up with the idea of hosting a small 8-team tournament for the Novice (U14) travel-team division and was thrilled to have a total of sixteen teams participate that first year. The tournament has become a great success with glowing reviews from players, coaches, parents, spectators and even umpires. We now host over 22 teams annually from all over Ontario and, this year, we have also included the youngest travel-team division, the U10 Mites. Come out and watch the next generation of competitive softball players in action on some of the best diamonds in Ontario.
Our 50th Anniversary Celebration
We’re hosting a special celebration on Friday, June 24 at the Peter Hallman Ball Yard in Kitchener. To celebrate our 50th anniversary, we invite past and present players, coaches, volunteers and anyone who has a love of softball to attend our celebration. There will be activities for all ages with a fireworks display to cap things off. This is a free event for all, but we do ask that you bring non-perishable food items for the KMGSA food drive. For more information, contact us at email@example.com or visit our website kmgsa.com.
