Kitchener-Waterloo Girls Basketball Association Wildhawks has partnered with the NBA to bring the Jr. NBA program to our community for girls between the ages of 5 and 7. The Jr. NBA program is designed for girls who have the eagerness to learn the fundamental aspects of basketball. Many of the girls who participate are introduced to basketball for the very first time. The program provides a fun and encouraging atmosphere where basketball skills are introduced.
The fall session proved to be popular and filled quickly. We are excited to announce that we will be offering a winter session as well to accommodate the needs of our community. For more details please visit us at www.kwgba.ca.
Each session runs once per week for 12 weeks for a cost of $75. Participants receive a Jr. NBA shirt and junior sized basketball. Our Jr. NBA program has partnered with our Girls U19 Wildhawks team who will assist with sessions and provide mentorship to the Jr. NBA players.
Come out and join us! This program is an exciting opportunity for girls in our community.
Here’s what parents are saying:
“It is an amazing program. And as a parent, I love seeing how the high school girls get out to help coach and mentor the girls. My young girls really do look up to them and have learned so much.”
“The Jr. NBA program is seriously a fantastic program for young girls. The coaches have been amazing and the girls thrive in an all girls environment.”
“The skills they are learning are fun even when they’re learning the basics such as passing or the team cheers! And the parents get involved in simple drills. The players really respond to that and the parents become more connected and engaged. Perfect way to keep the enthusiasm going even after practise ends.”
