I’m Kyle Poschner, a 16-year-old defensive back. I started my football career three years ago in grade nine with the Kitchener Collegiate (KCI) Raiders and also now have two years in with the Waterloo Region Predators.
In grade nine, I won The Most Improved Award and, the following year, was named the Most Valuable Defensive Player. I have been nominated for the Coaches Award the past two seasons during which I also made the All-Star High School Team.
In my third year at KCI, I played both wide receiver and defensive back along with returning kicks and punts. I have made the sophomore team in the Ontario Prospect Challenge.
During the off-season, I participated in football camps in Ontario and in the USA. One of the camps was with the Ohio State Buckeyes where I ran the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds. When not playing football, I play ball hockey and keep busy training under the guidance of several professional trainers. I also work with a therapist for different needs for my body and a holistic nutritionist to ensure I’m fuelling my body properly.
I really want to be a professional football player —that is my dream, and my goal!
