Female – Naomi Lance – Track & Field
Fifth year member of the track and field team Naomi Lance (Kitchener, Ont.) was outstanding in her first meet of the year at the Can Am Classic qualifying for the CIS Championships in the 300m dash. Lance ran a new personal best time of 39.94 to earn a bronze medal amongst CIS competitors. Earlier in the meet Lance ran a personal best time in the 4x200m leg as her team finished with a season’s best time of 1:45:29 to place sixth overall. Lance also performed well in the 60m, making it to the semis and finishing 10th overall.
Male – Colin Behenna – Hockey
Fourth year forward Colin Behenna (Waterloo, Ont.) was a critical part of the men’s hockey weekend success as they topped two OUA west powerhouse teams to extend their winning streak to six games. Behenna scored the game winning goal with just 3 minutes remaining and added an assist in Waterloo’s 3-2 win over Ryerson on Friday night. On Saturday, the math and business student opened the scoring in Waterloo’s 3-1 victory over Guelph. Behenna now has 22 points (10g, 12a) on the season, good for 16th in the OUA.
