An interactive travelling exhibition from the Bank of Canada
This exhibition features reproductions of original art, printing plates, tools, rare stamps, and money—lots of money—are waiting for you in this fun, informative and enriching look into the beauty and intricacy of Canadian stamps and bank notes.
Aimed at youth, families and adults, this travelling exhibition features hands-on interactives. You can try your hand at making your own “guilloche” patterns and take them home. Re-produce the beautifully elaborate patterns of classic bank notes and browse through a millennium’s worth of engravers and engraving history.
Accompanying this exhibition from the Museum’s collection, are printer’s plates and label examples from a number of Seagram products. The artistry and intricate design used in the creation of these labels draw on the same talented artists and concepts used to produce bank notes.
